Research and application in the field of terahertz (THz) technology is the focus of the “terahertz.NRW” network, which involves researchers from the University of Wuppertal as well as the Ruhr University Bochum, the University of Duisburg-Essen, the Fraunhofer Institute for Microelectronic Circuits IMS and the Fraunhofer Institute for High Frequency Physics and Radar Techniques. The aim is to close the gap between basic research and innovation-driven economic development in the long term. The scientists will receive around 1.5 million euros in funding for their project over the next four years from the Ministry of Culture and Science (MKW) of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
